Surfacing

As well as providing full build projects Maple Arenas can re-surface or complete you’re self build project with a surface that can be designed bespoke to entirely suit your requirements. Whether it is a western sliding surface, stabilised dressage surface or the complete professional waxed option, we can provide a solution that provides you with a surface that provides a sound base on which to develop and progress both horse and rider across all disciplines.

The choice of surfaces available is vast, we offer consultation and advice on all your options and will endeavour to simplify these options and will install any surface on our new build projects.

Wood Fibre

A good economical way to build your first arena as it is a more cost effective topping but with the same standard of base. As a natural product it can be known to hold moisture and become soggy over time, a wood fibre surface will also need topping up and replacing more often than a sand based surface but does however provide an excellent base for a dry turnout.

Pro Silica Sand

Capable of handling all disciplines, the sand arena is a great starting arena, and can be easily expanded into a professional or commercial surface at a later date. This is a great base surface, however problems with sand alone can be frustrating. Summer winds & winter frosts can damage and make the arena unusable, To combat these problems a full range of stabilisers and all weather add ins are available, all of which are designed to blend with the Silica.

Stabilisers

A common problem with just having Pro Silica Sand as a surface in its own right is the surface ‘riding deep’ this causes the horse to work into the surface rather than on top of it.

This can be counteracted by sowing synthetic additives into the sand. Designed to blend with the silica, the stabiliser will enhance the comfort, performance stability and structure of your sand and also improve energy return to the surface.

All Weather Add Ins

Recycled from rubber and pvc this coating offers protection from high winds and give great frost protection to the arena.

Wax Coating

Provide increased stability, eliminate the possibility of dust and remove the need for an irrigation system by using a wax coated surface. Available pre mixed or installed on site for a high performance synthetic riding surface.
