Sand Stabilisers

Sand Stabilisers are used for binding your base surface which will eliminate deep riding. The stabilisers have a highly effective concept of using synthetic fibres to stabilise silica sand in order to produce a free draining yet firm, sure-footing surface.

Stabilisers act to stabilise the silica sand to enable a high degree of resistance to sand particle movements when the surface is subjected to compressive and/or shear forces from your horse's hooves.

The net result of this stabilisation or increase in cohesion is that the penetration of the horse's hooves into surfaces is restricted to a few centimetres. It is important to recognise that the minimal surface spread, the reduced hoof penetration and relatively low kick-back provides a very sure-footing surface so that your horse can perform its work as confidently as if it were working on turf in 'good' condition.

There are four separate stabilisers:

STANDARD Stabiliser

This product consists of a high density geo-textile fibre which gives you a consistent stable feel to the surface all year round, Also the polypropylene fibres cut to optimum length giving you better stability and structure to the sand.

PERFORMANCE Stabiliser

Durable polypropylene fibres with the addition of fine strands of elastic fibre which provides cushioning and greater elasticity. This product gives the horse excellent footing even in the driest condition.

PROFESSIONAL Stabiliser

A combination of the standard stabilisers (polypropylene) and performance stabilisers (elastic strands) gives that extra spring and feedback, leading to excellent lateral and vertical binding. This is the ultimate additive.

PROACTIVE WAX Stabiliser

PROACTIVE WAX is a high quality product formulated with oils and waxes, the consistency has been designed to provide the ideal texture for the finished surface as well as acting as a binding agent for the other components. Blended from high quality raw materials PROACTIVE WAX is environmentally friendly and will have no harmful effect upon horse or rider. Surfaces manufactured using PROACTIVE WAX as a component has a porous quality that affords excellent drainage of artificial surfaces. Wax surfaces are widely recommended all over the country as the 'best possible surface.'
